Swiss Music Export @ The Great Escape, Brighton – 17 – 19 May

It’s that time of the year again – Brighton time, beach time, and time for The Great Escape. We’re pretty confident that you won’t need to be reminded that this festival is probably the most important yearly get-together for the independent music scene in Europe. Swiss Music Export will be going, too, and we’re bringing some great music with us. Music, moreover, we’d love to be able share with you over beer, sandwiches and apples at our traditional Swiss Business Mixer and SME showcase.

Veronica Fusaro
This young singer/songwriter, winner of the Demo Tape of the Year award 2016 at m4music, combines a fine guitar style with gripping electronica-based arrangements, an instantly recognisable voice and a knack for writing memorable tunes.

Crimer
His debut-album entered the Swiss charts at number two back in February! Crimer’s subtly crafted synth-pop is smart as well as catchy, witty as well as danceable. Although the artist’s own dance style should come with a health warning.

Blind Butcher
This guitar/drums/pedals duo is another of Reverend Beat-Man’s mad Voodoo Rhythm Records discoveries. Their typically idiosyncratic and yet totally appropriate Voodoo Rhythm PR blurb describes their musical style as “irritating post punk new wave kraut disco”. Great stuff!

DJ Nevahdie, Slimka and DeWolph (from XTRM Tour)
The Rappers make up this self-proclaimed “superwak clique” from Geneva. The collective favours a down-beat and melodic type of hip-hop, served up in an energetic and smart live performance.
