Mia Aegerter isn’t for Cowards

Multi-talented Mia Aegerter released her fifth album at the end of May. Having previously written songs mostly in Swiss German, “Nichts für Feiglinge” (“Not for cowards”) is her first in High German.

Aegerter grew up in Fribourg on the border between French- and German-speaking Switzerland. She quickly made a name for herself as an actress in various television films and series, and as a singer/songwriter. In 2004, her debut album “So wie i bi” went top 5 in the Swiss charts. She subsequently toured with Ronan Keating and wrote a regular column for a Swiss daily paper, amongst many other things. More recently, Aegerter relocated to Berlin where she spent a couple of years developing a new sound for herself, writing songs for other artists, and writing poetry. “Nichts für Feiglinge” sees Aegerter leave her poppy sound behind and move towards a more subtly atmospheric sound with a hint of Feist and Lou Dillion, as well as more subtle lyrics.

Mia Aegerter celebrated the release of the album with a special show in Berlin. An extensive tour of Germany, Switzerland and Austria will follow in the autumn. Also in the autumn, Aegerter will publish her first volume of poetry, shared with Andy Denzler, the internationally renowned painter based in Zurich. “Nichts für Feiglinge” was released on 26 May 2017 by Poetsetsfire and Sophie Records.
