Linah Rocio brings “Warrior Talk” to the UK and Ireland

Linah Rocio’s second album “Warrior Talk” was released on 27 January in the UK and Ireland by Aveline Records, making the Zurich-based singer/songwriter label mates with Ani diFranco, Ned Roberts and Ruth Theodore. To celebrate the release, Linah will be playing a selection of gigs in the UK.

Born in Chile, Linah Rocio has long since become an integral part of the Zurich music scene. A gifted pianist and a highly expressive singer with a fine ear for a surprising turn of melody, she points to Esperanza Spalding, Fiona Apple and Iggy Pop as artists she “also likes”. Augmented by various guests on banjo, trumpet, cello, guitar, double bass and other instruments, “Warrior Talk” is a complex and dramatic album, strong on melody and arrangements. About her choice of title she has this to say: “It’s like a conversation you had with yourself, where you went through something – like a war. An inner war.”
