Faber records surprise EP for gig goers
No singer/songwriter from Switzerland since Sophie Hunger has captured the attention of audiences at home and abroad more swiftly – not to mention charmingly – than Faber. In fact, Hunger, too, is a fan. Having supported his endeavours from the start, she invited him to be her support act on her recent European tour. Faber, still barely out of his teens, began his musical journey in a punk band. His real strength, however, are deeply personal songs with lyrics that constantly surprise with unusual turns and twists, delivered with a rasping kind of voice rarely heard in the context of acoustic guitars. He plays with a small band, and this, too, is unusual: it consists of a bass player and a drumming trombonist. Such has been Faber’s impact that he has been taken under the wings by Irrsinn Management who are also looking after the shooting stars AnnenMayKantereit.
Throughout the coming summer, Faber is on the road almost incessantly between Switzerland, Germany and Austria. As a special surprise for his fans, he will be travelling with a new 4-track EP in his bag, “Abstinenz”. The record is released by Faber’s Swiss label, Two Gentlemen Records.
