Paléo Festival, 22 – 27 July 2014
SME in collaboration with the Paléo Festival and FCMA is setting up a series of daily showcases for Swiss bands. From tiny beginnings as a folk festival, the Paléo Festival in Nyon, the hometown of Swiss Music Export, has long since developed into the most important platform for Swiss bands to showcase their talents in front of an international audience of music fans, professionals and fellow musicians.
This is the Paléo’s 39th year, making it one of the longest established festivals in Europe. Once again the organisers have succeeded in putting together a fascinating program with performers as varied as Elton John and Jagwar Ma, Gaetan Roussel and Dengue Dengue Dengue, or James Blunt and M.I.A.
Inconceivable, of course, that this „home game“ will pass without a major outbreak of SME activity. A highlight of these, as ever, is the Brunch Swiss Music Export will be hosting in cooperation with the Fondation pour la Chanson et les Musiques Actuelles (FCMA) at the offices of SME/FCMA, Rue St-Jean 1, Nyon. This event is a unique opportunity for Swiss and international business professionals and musicians to make new connections and refresh old ones. The “Brunch” will take place on Wednesday, 23 July, from 13:30 to 15:30. Admittance is strictly on invitation only – anyone wishing to take part please contact SME via e-mail: adelaide@swiss-music-export.com
SME in collaboration with the Paléo Festival and FCMA is also setting up a series of daily showcases for Swiss bands. These will take place from Tuesday, 22 July to Saturday, 26 July at the Cosmo. In case of bad weather, the events will be moved to l`Espace Presse-Professionnels. The showcases offer another fine opportunity to meet colleagues, friends and, perhaps, future business partners in a convivial atmosphere.
Admittance to the showcases is open to all professionals and members of the media with Paléo accreditation.
