Baba Shrimps Exporing the Gaps Between Midnight
Baba Shrimps, for ten years amongst Switzerland’s most reliable purveyors of catchily rocking chart hits, re-emerge from a period of creative frustration with fresh energy and a new album. “Between Midnight” – “10 songs between midnight and lunchtime, between departure and homecoming”, they say – was recorded in Tuscany with the producer of their early days, Thomas Fessler (Joya Marleen, Pippa Pollina, Sina, etc.) and harks back in spirit and sound to their poppy beginnings.
The three friends Adrian Kübler (vocals/guitar), Moritz Vontobel (drums) and Luca Burkhalter (keyboards) have managed to line up a couple of extra-special surprises to go with the release of “Between Midnight”. Firstly, their single “Hard to Love You Back” turns up in a television spot for the Swiss national football team. Secondly, they will be supporting Bryan Adams – an artist the Shrimps can very much relate to – at his St. Peter at Sunset event on 1 July.
