James Gruntz Caught Blinking Twice

After a gap of seven years, James Gruntz returns with a new album, his seventh. Entitled “Blink Twice”, it was released by muve Recordings at the beginning of November.

James Gruntz is an award-winning song writer in the classic pop mode: often dealing with the cruel turns of love, his songs pour balm over the wounds with memorable and easy-on-the ear tunes. Having further enhanced his profile thanks to collaborations with, amongst others, Steff La Cheffe, Pablo Nouvelle and Lo & Leduc, he has become a household name in the Swiss pop world.

However, the last seven years have completely changed the artist’s perspective. Having become the father of two boys, his thoughts have shifted from the excitement of fresh love to the warm glow of an established, though not taken for granted, relationship. The gap of years has not diminished Gruntz’s ability to conjure up a lovely melody at the drop of the hat to go with a song that suits his Curtis Mayfield-like semi-falsetto delivery like a glove.
