Ele A Celebrates the Pleasures of „Water“
Out now via EMI Italy is “Acqua”, the third EP from the Italian-speaking Lugano-born rap shooting star Ele A. Within two years of the release of her self-produced debut EP “Zerodue Demo” she has signed a major record deal, performed at more than forty festivals and sold out her first headline show at the Boule Noire in Paris. And she’s still only twenty-two!
In sharp contrast to her meteoric rise, Ele A’s rapping style is relaxed, measured and melodic. Developed in close cooperation with the producer Disse, her mix of 90s hip hop, boom bap, Detroit electro sounds and UK drum’n’bass leaves plenty of space for the beautiful flow of her thoughts which take in subjects as unusual for hip-hop as mental health and psychoanalysis. Listing Sade, Mac Miller and PinkPantheress amongst her preferred listening matter at present, she clearly draws from a deep well of inspiration which promises much for the future.
