A Declaration of Peace from Sirens of Lesbos

Out now via SOL/The Orchard is «Peace», the second album from the music/art collective Sirens of Lesbos. Featuring guests like Bootsy Collins, Erick the Architect and Treasure Bloom, it offers a thrillingly kaleidoscopic blend of styles with echoes from places as diverse as Outkast and Lee Perry, Sister Sledge, George Clinton or The Beloved. The astonishing “Candid Mess” with added vocals from Joshua Idehen perhaps best encapsulates the amazing reach of their imagination. Oh, and «Easy» is easily the best song Fleetwood Mac never wrote.

Having moved miles away from their early tongue-in-cheek Ibiza hit «Long Days, Hot Nights», the Serag sisters, Jasmina and Nabyla (their parents political refugees from Sudan and Eritrea), producers Melvyn Buss (English dad) and Arci Friede (Czech parents who arrived in Switzerland after the Russian invasion in 1968), and art director Denise Häberli have been pooling all their various cultural backgrounds to create a style that is uniquely their own which finds ample room for a political message that firmly focuses on the dream of «Peace».
