Pronto Ready for More

Out now via Universal is “Luno V”, the second album from the rapper, Pronto. Produced mostly by himself, with a little help from a friend, young Zurich-based producer, Yung MoXart, “Luno V” shows a much more introvert side of the rapper whose Ghanaian parents were musicians and dancers themselves. Having spent several months in Ghana as a twenty-year-old, Pronto aka Pronto Dinero aka Senyo Mensah is able to draw on wide range of experiences and influences ranging from trap to Afro-Beat and even a hint of trip-hop, all of which have found their way into his work, past and present.

Enjoying a platinum-decorated breakthrough with his single “Clean” in 2017, his debut album “Europe” was released in the same year, reaching the Swiss charts with both of his subsequent EPs as well as the single, “Priceless”. Nominated in the category “Best Breaking Act” for the Swiss Music Awards in 2021, his live ambitions were stifled, as with so many others, by Covid. “During the pandemic we spent a lot of time alone or amongst a very small group of people.” explains the rapper. “A number of other misfortunes and difficulties guided me towards a much more melancholy and moody sound than people might have expected from me. I set out to create a “dope” album that nevertheless sounds more mature than my previous works.” In this, Pronto has succeeded admirably. “Luno V” is rich in lyrical insights and demonstrates  remarkable musical depth.
