“Waves” of Argyle

Out now is “Waves”, a new 5-track EP on Universal Records from the singer-songwriter, Argyle. Blessed by the sort of slightly-hoarse voice that simultaneously suggests a colourful past, a yearning libido, and little-boy-lostness, Argyle’s songs are cut from a similar melodic cloth as those of fellow-Scot Lewis Capaldi, Dermot Kennedy or George Ezra.

As the name indicates, the son of an Indian father and a Scottish mother grew up in Argyll – “Argyle” is an archaic spelling of “Argyll” -, a district in the West of Scotland. As a teenager he moved to Leicester in the English midlands. Frustrated by the lack of opportunities in this dreary town, he packed his rucksack and bought a one-way ticket to Amsterdam where he started a career as a travelling busker that eventually brought him to Switzerland. Since releasing his debut album “By Your Side” in 2020, Argyle has become a sought-after songwriter, working with, amongst others, Marius Bear and Stress.
