The Bear Does Cry

Already a familiar face and voice to pop fans in Switzerland, Marius Bear’s new album “Boys Do Cry” is guaranteed to be heard all over Europe. Released on 25 March on Hi-Tea Records, the 12-track album has already hit number five in the Swiss charts. More importantly, however, Bear has been selected to represent Switzerland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Turin with its title track, a plea for men to be more open in their demonstration of emotion.

Bear by name, bear by voice. Mountain boy Marius honed his vocal style as a busker before moving to London to study at the BIMM pop school. Blessed with a voice distantly related to Rag’n’Bone Man, Bear is a fan of classic pop as well as classic pop emotions – love found, lost, broken and longed for. “Boys Do Cry” contains eleven tracks co-written by Bear with several other writers and producers, and a positively quiet version of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Someone (Who Loves Me)”.
