Pascal Gamboni Gets “Under the Skin”

“Sut La Pial” is singer/songwriter Pascal Gamboni’s tenth album. It is released on 15 April by Waterfall of Colours. “Sut La Pial” means “under the skin” in Romansch, the fourth national language in Switzerland, spoken mostly in the mountainous Eastern region of the country. Gamboni likes to use percussion instruments from all over the world, and his melodies wouldn’t sound out of place on an album recorded in Brasil. Sounding a little bit like Portuguese and Italian, Romansch suits Gamboni’s music well. Calling his style “Alpine Lo-Fi”, multi-award winning Gamboni recorded “Sut La Pial” almost exclusively in his home in Bern, with a revving motorbike adding to the ambient authenticity and spontaneity of the arrangements.
