Coilguns “Shunners/Burrows”
Loudly keeping up the tension before the completion of their next album, their fourth, Coilguns have pre-released two tracks from their album sessions in a limited screen-printed vinyl version (sic! the band as well as their label Hummus are well known for their playful approach to merchandise). The picture disc is part of an ongoing series of similar releases by Hummus Records.
As with all their material, “Shunners/Burrows” has been recorded live and uncut. Describing themselves as “proud flag holders of the 2.0 DIY scene since 2011”, Coilguns were originally a trio consisting of Louis Jucker (vocals), Jona Nido (guitar and record label duties), and Luc Hess (drums). However, for the first time in the band’s history, they have now acquired a bass player, Kevin Galland, who also handles synth and studio duties.
