It’s MaMA Time Again! 13 – 15 Oct 2021 – Paris, France

MaMA Festival & Conference – three days, seven venues, 80 concerts, 150 conference events, and the most romantic urban setting imaginable – or, as the organisers would have it: “100% Pigalle”. Returning from its lockdown-inflicted exile in the virtual world to a proper festival environment with real artists, audiences and venues, this year’s edition will undoubtedly be a very special occasion. All of us at Swiss Music Export are certainly looking forward very much to our return to Paris.

It goes (almost) without saying that we will be joining the festivities with a revival of our traditional Swiss Business Mixer, complete with unmissable showcase performances by the spellbinding KT Gorique and the no less enthralling Kety Fusco.

Having already built a strong reputation as a musically as well as verbally innovative rapper, KT Gorique truly found her voice as a result of an extended visit to her native Cote d’Ivoire. With last year’s “Akwaba” album she defined her music as ‘Future Roots’ – a fusion of everything she had picked up in her life so far, “good or bad”, a seamless blend of reggae, hip-hop, kalimba, balafon and other traditional African instruments.

Harpist Kety Fusco played with several well-known orchestras in Switzerland and Italy before throwing off the shackles of the classical world and reinventing herself as an explorer of semi-electronic, rhythm-driven ambient soundscapes with last year’s debut solo album “Dazed”.
