Convulsif Go “Extinct”
Rarely has a band chosen a better name for itself. And rarely has an album title been more misleading. “Extinct” is Convulsif’s fifth album, and it offers up veritable maelstrom of brutal vitality. “Noise/doom/metal with violin, bass clarinet, drums and bass guitar”, offers the PR-blurb by way of an introduction, followed by: “’Extinct” is an expedition to extremes – darkness and speed, contrast and vigour, momentum and flow. Convulsif’s fifth album is ever self-inventing gloomy rock in the abyss between subgenres: noise, metal, jazz and grindcore.” We couldn’t have described it better ourselves!
“Extinct” was recorded live at Blend Studio in Lutry, and mixed at MyRoom in Lausanne. The album is released on 23 October 2020 on Hummus Records.
