Namaka Flooding the Sun
“Water on the Sun” is the title of a new EP by electro-pop trio Namaka. It came out on 8 May 2020 on Mouthwatering Records.
With the likes of Tim & Mimi Puma, Elvett and Odd Beholder on their books, the Bernese Mouthwatering label is a guarantee for classy and innovative electronica. Namaka is no exception. A trio consisting of studio craftsmen Philipp Schlotter and Fred Bürki, and fronted by singer Sophie Adam, they blend “analogical and digital; mechanical and organic” to beguiling effect. Recorded in Sophie Adam’s family’s house in Northern Italy, “Water on the Sun”, according to the band, “celebrates feminine strength and empowered vulnerability” and “honours emotionality as a strong tenderness rising in our bodies and drowning our fears.”
