Great Escape

Alongside Manchester’s In the City and Liverpool’s Sound City, Brighton’s Great Escape, founded in 2006 and attracting a crowd 15,000 strong, is the UK’s leading showcase/convention/festival. This year’s edition boasts a veritable armada of high-calibre acts with 300 bands playing in 30 venues over three days, both established names and newcomers, such as The Joy Formidable, Friendly Fires, Frank Turner, Sufjan Stevens and The Wave Pictures.

In addition to pre-publicized performances, impromptu street gigs spring up all over town. The Alternative Escape, numerous club nights, label parties, industry showcases, unique collaborations and outdoor gigs all add to the festivities. For the complete line-up see the festival website below.
