Superweak, Super (Not) Weak
Fresh via Young & Aspiring comes the album debut from the mini-supergroup Superweak and is self-titled “Superweak”. Based in London and Porrentruy in the canton of Jura, the trio consists of the post-pop duo Express Therapy and Berlin-based producer/singer/songwriter Gaspar Narby.
“Organic electronic with soft, dreamlike beats”, wrote the UK magazine Mixmag about an earlier record by Narby. The same description could be applied to Superweak. Inspired by the likes of Gorillaz, Glass Animals and Tame Impala, the trio mixes sweet voices with easy-on-the-ear melodies to create a mood of carefree drifting and dreaming (with the odd darker thought smuggled into the lyrics).
