MISS C-LINE Mellows the Heart
The intriguingly named MISS C-LINE returns with her fourth full-length album. Entitled “Mellow Hearts”, it is out now on C-Records.
Born in 1999 in Germany with a Belarusian family background and now living in Basel, MISS C-LINE cites Erykah Badu, Robert Glasper, d’Angelo, Musiq Soulchild and the Roots, on one hand, and classical string music, on the other, as her formative influences. “Growing up with musician parents already introduced me to the possibility to live from music, be it teaching, or be it playing”, she says. The words “mellow” and “soulful” sum up her vocal approach pretty accurately. Another aspect that makes this album different and thus special are the instrumental arrangements. They include nearly two dozen different organic instruments, including viola, violin and violoncello (all played by members of her family), piano, saxes and flute. They suit her subtle vocal delivery like the proverbial silk glove.
