Eileen Alister Honeymooning on the Hop
After creating quite a buzz with a series of catchy singles and a couple of busy festival summers, Eileen Alister at last makes her album debut. Carrying the wittily unromantic title “Honeymoon in a Motel”, it is available now via H2 Music Records.
Born and bred in Zurich, Eileen wrote her first song aged eight before starting to upload her own cover versions of her favourite songs on the internet. After a handful of collaborative efforts including one with Benjamin Amaru, she was introduced to DJ Zid, a producer also based in Zurich, with whom she swiftly developed an inspirational working relationship. “I write all the lyrics myself and it is hugely important to me that I am creatively involved in every single aspect of the process”, says the 23-year-old. “Honeymoon in a Motel” is a melodically as well as lyrically memorable collection of pop song, showcasing a remarkably mature and original pop vision.
