Hope Through Mark Kelly & Peaceful Warriors

After several solo collections of easy-on-the-ear folk-pop, Mark Kelly returns with a full band, Peaceful Warriors, to continue on his quest to produce music as a force of peace and creative collaboration in all walks of life. Entitled “Hope”, it is released via the fabulously named Hairy People Records/Irascible.

A lively town on the Northeastern shore of Lake Geneva, Vevey is swiftly becoming another dynamic centre of French-Swiss music making. Mark Kelly, complete with lion mane and honey-soaked soul voice, has assembled a motley crew of musicians around himself that guarantees a sound like no other by virtue of their combination of instruments being utterly unusual. They include gongs, ukulele, cello, banjo, harp, bugle, trombone, udu, flute and plenty of acoustic guitars. Together, they create a beautifully laid-back and organic music that appears to be at home all over the world, with a special soft spot for a folky singer/songwriter with an inexhaustible supply of lovely melodies.
