Moictani Driving a Blue Car

A new EP, “Mi Coche Azul” (“My blue car”), after two full-length albums, marks a new stage in French-Swiss/Spanish singer/songwriter Moictani’s celebration of DIY music culture. It was released in early May by Mouthwatering Records.
Hailing from Valais originally, now resident on the shores of Lake Geneva in Vevey, Moictani aka Tania Praz uses an intriguing variety of ingredients to create a warm, richly layered and idiosyncratic style of rock song. These include a synth riff à la Jean-Michel Jarre here, a hint of Krautrock there, and a hefty dose of rock oomph as well as a definite touch of Spain everywhere. This is what her press release has to say: “Mi coche azul” is intimate and liberating. It marks a musical transition that began alone in a bedroom and ended up shared with new, passionate people.” As for that blue car: “A year ago, Moictani met a blue car and together they embarked on a journey through time, taking four weird elves with them. Together, they set off on an adventure into a strange world…”
