Peacebone Blame the Bird

Rooted firmly in the heavy grooves of stoner rock, Peacebone miraculously continue to discover fresh joys in a style that long since appeared to have lost its mojo.

Their latest EP, mysteriously entitled “Blame the Bird” and released at the end of January, offers a remarkably varied selection of muscular and yet subtle rock tracks that never lose sight of the power of melody. With the focus shared by a vocalist, Rebekah Atkinson, who can “do” intensity without resorting to volume or rock cliche, and a fine lead guitarist, Samuel Luccini, the quintet including Julien Bonzon (bassist), Simon Bradford (drummer) and Colin Rochat (rhythm guitarist) adds considerable depth to their sound with arrangements that add plenty of surprise without sacrificing groove.

Based in Vevey, a smallish town on Lake Geneva, Peacebone are dedicated followers of the DIY-ethos. Working in their own Studio Arcane, they produced “Blame the Bird” themselves. Incredibly, the five band members are still only in their mid-twenties.
