Laurel Bloom Finds a Sunny Room

Laurel Bloom announces himself to the world as a solo artist with a five-track EP, “Painting The Sunlight in My Room”. It is out now on Irascible Records.

Laurel Bloom, aka Lucas Zibulski, is also the drummer of the Basel-based art/folk rock outfit Malummi. Fronted by Larissa Rapold, the band carried off the IndieSuisse award for “album of the year” in 2023 with their last LP, “The Universe is Black”. For his solo venture, Laurel Bloom teamed up with a childhood friend, producer and multi-instrumentalist Konstantin Aebli (Lost in Lona). Settling down with a piano in the living room of his childhood home, he attempted to capture old memories and hopes in a series of sparsely arranged songs inspired, he says, by the likes of Andy Shauf and Aldous Harding.
