Barrio Colette for Lunch, Supper and Breakfast

Entitled “Midi, Soir, Matin”, the latest EP from Genevan garage chanson outfit Barrio Colette is out now via Robin Girod’s intrepid Cheptel Records label.

Formed in late 2019, Barrio Colette are a Genevan supergroup of sorts, nowadays containing comedian/actress/singer Noémie Griess – she originally conceived BC as a solo project –, Anissa Cadelli (also a member of Bandit Voyage), guitarist/bassist Luca Celetta and bassist Stan Veuillet. “Midi Soir Matin” mixes everything we love”, says the band. Which leads us to assume that their communal record collection ranges from Sylvie Vartan via Iggy Pop and the Reverend Beat Man all the way to the sounds of Moulin Rouge. Oh, and there’s a beautifully greasy twanging version of “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’”!
