Lost in Lona Scared of Guns and – maybe – Mothers?

The mysteriously named Lost in Lona are the duo of Konstantin Aebli and Lidia Beck. “Scared Like a Mother and Her Gun“ is the equally mysterious title of their debut album, out now via Mouthwatering Records.
Konstantin Aebli, once of a much punkier persuasion, was only recently involved in a slightly more electric outfit named Weird Fish. Vocalist Lidia Beck, meanwhile, originally trained as a violinist and has popped up all over the place in various corners of the Zurich music scene in recent times. She lists as the records she would take to a lonely island as Dua Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia” and label mates’ Black Sea Dahu’s “I Am My Mother”.
„Authenticity is essential for us“, the duo recently said in an interview. “We are striving to express our genuine feelings and experiences in our music without in any way filtering our motives. That’s why we have decided on a minimalist approach to our music and record everything live in order to catch the moment as honestly and raw as possible.”
