Flèche Love in Search of the Cure

Entitled “Guérison” (“Cure”), Flèche Love’s second solo album is out now via Horizon. And what an extraordinary piece of work it is!
In a previous life, Flèche Love aka Amina Cadelli was the voice of post-Balkan techno crew Kadebostany. More recently, she sang on Rachid Taha’s last album whilst at the same time searching for a musical style that was better suited to express the needs of her muse. After the somewhat trip-hop-y (and rather wonderful) “Naga Part 1” and “Naga Part 2”, with “Guèrison”, Flèche Love finds the strength to take a deep look at what she describes as her own “wounded” childhood in Geneva. Rooted in her mother’s Amazigh culture and other Maghrebian sounds, she beautifully succeeds in creating a blend of music (and poetry!) that shimmers with subtle influences from French chanson and Debussy to R&B and hip hop, and is very much her own.
