Out now on Cheptel Records is “WAS IST DAS”, the third full-length album from the Genevan anarcho-punk-ye-ye duo Bandit Voyage.
Singer, lyricist and guitarist Anissa Cadelli (also a member of Barrio Colette) and multi-instrumentalist Robin Girod (ex-Mama Rosin, at present a member of multiple projects and also the founder of Cheptel Records) take a resolutely lo-fi, DIY and anything-goes approach to their music. Funky grooves, minimalist guitar riffs, knowingly cheesy keyboards, surreal sax blasts and Cadelli’s hyper-ironic vocals all add up to a satisfyingly sleazy and original type of garage-chanson noir.
