TOMPAUL Capturing the Polar Lights
Entitled “Aurora”, the latest EP from electronica quartet TOMPAUL was released in early April by Zurich-based Liviana Music. Hailing from the spa town Baden near Zurich and naming Howling, Bob Moses and Kerala Dust as stylistically related artists, TOMPAUL’s line-up is probably unique in the world. Formed by guitarist/vocalist Tom Paul Fischer, the band also features a DJ, Robin Meier, a percussionist, Nicolas Struchen, and a trombonist, Florian Brändli. With the trombone adding a deeply satisfying warmth to their idiosyncratic blend of pounding house grooves, dreamy vocals and spacious atmospherics, theirs is the perfect music for the long moment when peak clubbing euphoria tips into a more reflective early morning mood.
