Enola Reverof Buries His Head in the Clouds

Dreampop with a hint of shoegaze is the habitat of a mysterious new artist named Enola Reverof. His debut EP “Bury Me in the Clouds” was released via songsforclaire in February. It contains five melodiously dreamy tracks entitled “Bury”, “Me”, “In”, “The”, and “Clouds”. The playful aura of both the track titles and the artist’s name (surely, we won’t have to suggest to you to try and read it backwards!) will give you an indication that this is a project that is both deeply serious in execution and not quite so serious in intent. We know very little about the creator of these beautifully constructed songs, except that he is not really called Enola Reverof, and that that he has recorded every instrumental part by himself, in his own studio which might, or might not, be based in Zurich. Listing his influences as Bombay Bicycle Club, Soccer Mommy and Day Wave, we, as outsiders, would also suggest Slowdive and Ride as cornerstones of inspiration. Whatever the provenance, the results are truly, autumnally beautiful.
