Loco Escrito Celebrating His Very Own Superhero

His sunny melange of Reggaeton and Latin grooves has earned Loco Escrito quite a few trophies already. Three years in a row he walked off with the “Best Hit” award at the Swiss Music Awards, doubling up in 2021 as the “Best Male Act”. His last album “Estoy Bien” stayed in the Swiss charts for an incredible 33 weeks, reaching the top spot as a matter of course. It does not take great clairvoyant skills to predict similar success for his latest collection. “Fernando” was released on 29 April 2022 via FarMore Records/Sony Music.

Sharing nothing but a title with ABBA’s hit record, Loco Escrito’s “Fernando” is instead a deeply personal tribute to his own father who sadly died shortly after last year’s Swiss Music Awards ceremony. “My father often said: the only law you should listen to is that of your heart”, says Loco Escrito: “It is a philosophy I live by every day.” Born in Columbia and raised in the soft green hills near Zurich, the family clearly is the centre of Loco’s world. Apart from the self-explanatory hymn to his dad, “Mi Superman”, there are also songs about his mother (“Mama”), his young daughter (“New Wave) and his partner, “Michelindis”.

Short, sharp and never more than a few dance beats away from the next irresistibly catchy hook, “Fernando” will undoubtedly be a big part of the coming summer’s indoor and outdoor soundtrack.
