Ferhat Enjoying “Turkish Delights”

The Swiss-Turkish musician and actor Ferhat mixes traditional Turkish bouzouki riffs with electronic beats aimed squarely at sweaty dance clubs, and lyrics that carry a clear message. His new EP “Turkish Delights” is one passionate plea for rainbow tolerance wrapped in six songs. The video for the track “Pehlivan”, for instance, is a beautifully executed visual essay on the homoerotic undertones of the traditional Turkish sport of wrestling. The militant impact of the video is perhaps best illustrated by the fact that it has been banned from all public performance in Turkey.

Having trained as an actor and appeared in various television productions, Ferhat attended the Popschule Berlin, the Sängerakademie in Hamburg as well as the Zurich Hochschule der Künste to expand his artistic repertoire to include music and dance.

“Turkish Delights” is marketed by Motor Entertainment.
