Barrio Colette Celebrate Loving Life
They don’t take themselves too seriously, do Barrio Colette. Which makes their arrival all the more welcome. Releasing their debut EP “Amour de Vivre” on 7 May 2021 on Cheptel Records, the Genevan trio manage to wrench a hefty dose of good sleazy fun from the our Covid-19-induced woes. Thus, the lead single from the EP, “Filles Garçons”, cheekily adopts the groove from Iggy Pop’s “Lust for Life” to go with a cabaret-type video that asks the question: would you be prepared to die to play live in a world where live gigs are no longer possible?
Formed in late 2019, Barrio Colette are a Genevan supergroup of sorts, containing Anissa Cadelli (also in the Sony-signed Bandit Voyage), comedian/actress/singer Noémie Griess, and Nicolas Scolari (SPA Massage etc.).
