AMOA wants You!
The name is as mysterious as the mood of the songs she sings. Hiding behind the name AMOA is the singer. Andrea Thoma. 19 February 2021 sees the release of her debut album, “You” via Radicalis.
Avoiding the traditional verse/chorus of conventional pop songs, AMOA has written eleven songs that drift, hover and float across the subtle rhythm patterns constructed by her collaborators, the producers Roland Vollenweider (aka Us & Sparkles), Jonathan Nagel and Simon Boss. Calling her creation an “electro dream world”, AMOA uses the elegantly understated and varied moods of her pieces to explore various complexities arising from the interaction between “I” and “You”. With additional percussive patterns supplied by organic drums, the warmth of “You” is deeply rooted in the Bristol trip-hop tradition as well as more recent ambient electronica experiments.
