Divvas Dive Deep

26 June sees the release of Divvas’s debut EP, “Challenger Deep”. The release is shared by the London-based Slow Dance label and Zurich-based Blau Blau Records.

Corinne Nora is a multi-instrumentalist and composer active in a variety of music, theatre and dance projects. Dave Eleanor is a singer and producer who has forged his own style of deeply dubby, ambient and spooky electronica, releasing his first EP, “Wait”, in 2012. Nora and Eleanor met in spring 2019 as participants in a dance production. Discovering that they shared a lot of common musical ground, they formed Divvas shortly afterwards and completed their first recordings during a short residency in London.

On their press release, the duo describe their music as “Tarkovsky holding hands with the Queen”. “Their lyrics”, continues the blurb, “converse with the void, engaged with heartbreak and emptiness, yet are underpinned with a simmer fury which asserts itself when nothing else will.” Who are we to argue.
