Stefanie Heinzmann needs nothing but love

52 years after the Beatles, Stefanie Heinzmann has come to the same simple and yet difficult conclusion: all we really do need is love. “All We Need Is Love” is the title of her fifth album, released worldwide via BMG on 22 March with international distribution via ADA.

Having won a vastly popular casting show on German television as a teenager, Stefanie Heinzmann’s debut album “Masterplan” hit the number one spot in Switzerland in 2008, remaining in the top 75 for a staggering forty weeks. Three more albums spent a combined 73 weeks in the charts, making her one of the most successful Swiss pop stars of the past decade. The life of a star became a bit of a chore. However. Following the release of her last LP in 2015, Valais-born and –raised Stefanie Heinzmann began to question her motives. Wouldn’t she rather be a carpenter? Or perhaps a midwife? A long and difficult process of re-evaluation and self-analysis led her to one conclusion: music truly was her calling. “Previously, I found it hard to make decisions”, she says. “Now I’ve learnt to listen to myself more deeply, and trust my instincts.” And the essence of her conclusions: “All We Need Is Love”, recorded in Sweden, London and Hamburg, a collection of songs all revolving round Stefanie Heinzmann’s new found confidence, and the path that led her there.
