Flèche Love discovers her freedom

After several years as a member of Geneva’s post-Queen/Balkan/synth outfit Kadebostany, Flèche Love regards her first solo album as a “rebirth” and “a big let go”. “Naga Part 1” is released on 1 March via Le Label/PIAS & Musique Sauvage.

Sporting an impressive armoury of Berber tattoos on the album cover, the press blurb describes Amina Cadelli (her real name) as “half witch 2.0, half shaman woman”, a “haunting pasionaria” whose music conjures up a world of “whirling dervishes, Japanese kimonos” and “oriental jewels”. The florid language might be just a little over the top – what is undeniable is the fact that Flèche Love’s blend of electronica, hip-hop, r&b as well as influences from her Algerian background is deeply beguiling and memorable.
