The Rebels of Tijuana do it in French
The Rebels of Tijuana have been going for ten years and they’re wearing the coolest shirts in this month’s SME newsletter. This gives them the right to describe their new album – a double! – themselves: “Recorded on analogue tape at the “Back To Mono” Studio with Christian Hierro. Shifting into surreal French, the songs journey into past influences and current nuggets, embracing a poetic horizon endowed with psychedelic pleasures and cinematic pop. Gram Parsons, Nino Ferrer and other heroes from the seventies whirl in the ring of light.”
“Aisle” is released on 5 October via the band’s own label, Le Pop Club Records, distributed by Irascible (Switzerland), Bigwax Distribution fka. La baleine (France) and Clear Spot (rest of Europe). The Geneva-based band will be touring Germany, France and Switzerland in October, and Canada in the new year.
