“Cheers” say Steiner & Madlaina
19 October sees the release of Steiner & Madlaina’s keenly anticipated debut album, the cheerily entitled “Cheers”. Fronted by Zurich-based singer and guitarist Nora Steiner as well as pianist/singer/guitarist Madlaina Pollina, the band is augmented by Max Kämmerling on guitar, mandolin and percussion. “Cheers” was produced by Alex Sprave (Mando Diao, We Invented Paris, Ganes and many others); he also provides the bass lines. Music runs in Madlaina Pollina’s veins: her father is the well-known singer-songwriter Pippo Pollina, her brother is Faber who has already built up a strong following in the GSA countries with his smartly unusual lyrics.
“Cheers” contains ten new songs. Five are sung in German, four in English, and one in their native tongue, Swiss German. The album is released worldwide by Glitterhouse Records. An extended tour of Germany and Austria will follow in January and February.
