Pyrit takes “Control”
Pyrit is the name Thomas Kuratli has given to his on-going “cosmic desert music” adventure. Swiss artist Pyrit is now residing in Paris, plays guitar and cymbals with an occasional dash of electronica. “Control” is his second album. It was released on Paris-based Bookmaker Records on 6 April. Distribution is via Modulor Music (France), Irascible (Switzerland), Norman Records (UK), Clearspot (Netherlands), Archipelago Rises (Australia) and Sulatron Records (Germany).
Here’s what his homepage has to say about “Control”: “Building from his first album “UFO” (2015), which tells of the transformation of a man into a machine, we are now locked inside this machine, whose infinite warrens are constantly changing shape. Like a floating spirit, recollecting his experience as a human being, we end up roaming in this sonic maze, both prison and new world to be reclaimed. It is within this context that our sensations collide in a coldly organised magma of sound. There, we meet the wounded ghosts of David Lynch, Portishead or Haxan Cloak.”
To support the release, Pyrit is setting off on a tour of Switzerland, with added gigs in Holland and Germany. Also he’s playing two special release shows. One on 11. April at Point Ephémère in Paris and the other on 26 April at Funkhaus in Berlin.
