In a major coup for a French-Swiss band, Aliose have been nominated for a “Victoire”, often referred to as the French version of the Grammys. Aliose were formed in 2004 after a chance encounter during a composition workshop in Nyon in Switzerland. Touring frequently and all over the world, the two singer/songwriters developed a subtle blend of unshowy chanson and folk rock rendered special by their close vocal harmonies and their ear for a gorgeous melody. Les Victoires De La Musique”, reaching its 33d edition in 2018, is the French equivalent of the Brit Awards or the Grammys. Nominations in each category are limited to three. Aliose were listed in their category alongside Juliette Armanet and Petit Biscuit. This year’s glittering awards ceremony took place on 9 February.
