Discover the (Swiss) future at Bars en Trans, 7 – 9 December 2017, Rennes France

The „big“ Transmusicales is not the only festival taking place in Rennes during this early December week. There is also the „Bars en Trans„. A much more intimate affair, this „off-Transmusicales“ series of events is transforming a number of city centre bars into music venues ideally suited to create an audience for up-and-coming voices who might not yet be suited to the big stage.
Several Swiss acts are scheduled to appear at this year’s Bars en Trans
Duck Duck Grey Duck
Thursday 7 December 2017, 22:30 – Le Dejazey
This wild-haired trio from Geneva describe their sound as „magical doo-wop, Lake Geneva soul-surf-garage, two beat grooves and ancestral rhythms„. Not much we can add to that, really.

Melissa Kassab
Saturday 9 December 2017, 20:30 – Le Papier Timbré
Having travelled the world with only her guitar for company, Geneva-based singer/songwriter Melissa Kassab recorded her beguilingly simple debut album in two days in the basement of a factory. Blessed with a voice that effortlessly glides through the air, Kassab sounds a bit like Alela Diane and a bit like Agnes Obel.

Flèche Love
Saturday 9 December 2017, 21:00 – Le Kenland
Amina Cadelli used to be one of the voices of the post-balkanesque fun/dance/Queen-troupe Kadebostany. Solo, she serves up a hot and mysterious stew of understated rap and hallucinogenic trip-hop.
