Bad Bonn Kilbi 2 – 4 June 2017 Düdingen, Switzerland
It’s safe to say that nobody who’s ever been to Bad Bonn will ever forget this place. Just to get there is an adventure. Duex in the Bad Bonn office has received many a desperate call from a band surrounded by green fields, grazing cows and apple trees, convinced their GPS had led them astray. But no, the GPS was right. Bad Bonn really is that idyllic. Originally a small restaurant built to service the bathers in the nearby lake, Bad Bonn is now a very special concert venue. Renowned for their superior musical tastes as well as a finely tuned aerial for the most exciting new bands, Bad Bonn’s has acquired a truly international reputation as one of the most exciting venues anywhere.
Once a year, in early summer, Bad Bonn spills out of the restaurant into the surrounding fields for a three-day “Kilbi” (“Kilbi” is a Swiss-German word for village fete). This year’s programme features the likes of Angel Olson, The Moonlandingz, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and Anna Meredith. As always, however, the bill also contains a strong contingent of Swiss acts, including Dubai Sprinters, UFO, HEX, Pure Mania, Galopp, Böse Wicht and his Böse Monsters, Allandy Shanty, Julian Sartorius, Schnellertollermeier, Autisti and DJ Three:Four.
We would like to point out this Swiss artists:
Lord Kesseli & the Drums: Dominik Kesseli (guitar, vox) and Michael Gallusser (drums) describe their sound as “slowed-down electronic club music” and “synthetic sci-fi with an analogue anger in their belly”. Neither description comes close to capturing the hypnotic effect of their slow-burning meditational groove.
One Sentence.Supervisor: Fresh from their triumphant performances in Brighton, these magicians of psychedelic trance are bound to introduce Bad Bonn to a plethora of hitherto unknown colours.
Pandour: Pandour consist of two experienced House-DJs and two guitarists. Celebrating the release of their debut EP “Ursa Minor” on Cheptel Records, they will serve up a hot musical stew of deep house, jazz, afro funk and krautrock with a hint of North African trance music.
Phil Hayes & the Trees: A trio consisting of garage veterans Phil Hayes (guitar, vox), Sarah Palin (drums) and Martin Prader (bass), the Trees are steeped in punk and pop history, with declared influences ranging from Jonathan Richman to Wire, and from Life Without Buildings to Talking Heads.
