Le Roi Angus at Europavox Festival 29 June – 2 July 2017 Clermont-Ferrand, France

Launched in 2006 and based in the heart of France, the Europavox Festival is dedicated to the promotion of European musical diversity. To this end, the festival organisers have set up partnerships in six other countries to coordinate a series of similar one- to four-day festivals. These are Estragon (Bologna, Italy), Loftas Fest (Vilnius, Lithuania), WUK (Vienna, Austria), La Botanique (Brussels, Belgium), INMusic Festival (Zagreb, Croatia), and Fuzz Productions (Athens, Greece).

This year’s Clermon-Ferrand bill contains just over 200 bands. One of these is our very own Le Roi Angus. Rooted in French chanson history, this young quintet from Geneva combines a taste for jangling and twanging guitars from a different age with an idiosyncratic sense of humour.
