Klaus Johann Grobe release long-awaited second album
Two years and countless gigs and festival appearances after their remarkable debut album, Klaus Johann Grobe follow it up with an equally remarkable second. It carries the intriguing title “Spagat der Liebe”, or, in English: “The Splits of Love”. Once again, the synth/drums duo of Sevi Landolt and Dani Bachmann have concocted a dense mesh of woozy post-Krautrock synth sounds, tight rhythms and hazy German vocals to create an oddly timeless kind of mood that drifts psychedelically back and forth between Berlin circa 1967 and Zurich in 2020, via Kraftwerk, Tortoise, Bert Kämpfert and Thee Oh Sees.
“Spagat der Liebe” is released on 6 May by Cargo Records in the GSA countries, and by Chicago-based Trouble in Mind Records in the rest of the world.
Klaus Johann Grobe celebrate the release with their first ever proper US-tour. It began on 26 April in Chicago and ends fourteen dates later in Brooklyn. On their return to Europe, they will immediately embark on a tour of Germany. Live, the band is expanded from a duo to a quartet.
