Seven starring in “Sing meinen Song – das Tauschkonzert”

„Sing meinen Song – das Tauschkonzert“ („Sing my song – the swap concert“) is one of the most successful music television concepts of the last few years. The show involves a number of well-known artists from a wide variety of genres performing songs written by other artists in their own particular style. Helmed by Xavier Naidoo – for almost twenty years a regular presence in the upper regions of the German charts -, the third round of the German version of the show will be shown by VOX TV in spring 2016. It has now been confirmed that one of the stars taking part in the show will be Seven.

In Switzerland, Seven’s super funky brand of R&B has long been one the most popular live draws around. It is only with his recent tenth studio album „BackFunkLoveSoul“, however, that he has made the major breakthrough that many had predicted years ago. „BackFunkLoveSoul“ – it does what it says on the tin – reached number 1 in the Swiss charts (a first for Seven), and the singer subsequently sold out venues like the Zurich Volkshaus with ease.

„I only came across Seven only recently at a concert,“ says Xavier Naidoo, „and I was an instant fan of his funk and soul songs. On a musical as well as personal level, he will be fantastic addition to the next round of „Sing Meinen Song“.“ Seven, in turn, is understandably looking forward to the chance of gaining a new audience all over the GAS countries: „I am incredibly excited about the show,“ he says. „I can’t wait for the challenge to turn other songwriters‘ songs into my own.“
