New Sophie Hunger album
Sophie Hunger, the most successful of the rich current breed of Swiss singer/songwriters, releases her fourth album „Supermoon“ in several stages. It will appear in Switzerland on 17 April, one week later in Germany and Austria, and, finally, on 27 April in the rest of Europe, UK, Japan and Australia. At the end of last year, Hunger signed a new record deal with London-based Universal Music subsidiary Caroline Records.
After several years of intense touring and recording, Hunger had originally intended to take a lengthy sabbatical from music in San Francisco. However, from the moment she arrived in this great Californian city of flowers, old-fashioned trams and the City Lights book shop, her muse went into overdrive. Far away from everyone and everything she knew, the songs kept on coming. „Supermoon“ contains no fewer than 18 songs, touching on a wide palette of moods and topics. Most surprising is a duet with the French ex-footballer Eric Cantona on the evergreen “La Chanson d´Helene”, originally sung by Romy Schneider and Michel Piccoli.
Sophie Hunger will be touring Europe throughout spring and summer in support of the album.
