Swiss Music Export at the Paléo Festival in Nyon, Switzerland; 23 – 28 July 2013.
Already in its 38th edition, the “Paléo”, like so many other Swiss festivals, originally grew out of a Folk festival in the 1970s. It has long since developed into a magnet for major name performers without abandoning its roots as a platform for new artists from Switzerland as well as abroad. Amongst the major performers this year are Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Sophie Hunger, Alt-J, Jagwa Music, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Mulatu Astatke, Dizzee Rascal, Blur, Benjamin Biolay and Bastian Baker.
Brunch Wednesday 24 July, 13.30-15.30h at offices of SME/FCMA (Rue St-Jean 1)
As always at their “home event”, Swiss Music Export (SME) together with Fondation pour la Chanson et les Musiques Actuelles (FCMA), will be hosting a “Brunch” at the offices of SME/FCMA, Rue St-Jean 1, Nyon. This event is a unique opportunity for Swiss and international business professionals accredited at the Paléo to mix, make new connections and revive old ones. The “Brunch” will take place on Wednesday, 24 July, from 13.30h to15.30h. During the brunch, The Lonesome Southern Comfort Company will offer an unplugged showcase performance! Swiss Artists perform Showcases Tuesday 23 July to Saturday 27 July, 16.15h at the Cosmo
SME in collaboration with the Paléo Festival and FCMA is also setting up a daily series of showcases for Swiss bands. These will take place from Tuesday, 23 July to Saturday, 27 July at 16.15h at the Cosmo. In case of bad weather, the events will be moved to l`Espace Presse-Professionnels. Apart from serving up fine music, these showcases are a great way to get in the mood for the evening’s festival events in the company of other professionals and members of the media. An apéro will be served after the performances – another good reason to attend! Admittance is open to all professionals and members of the media with Paléo accreditation. All artists performing the showcases are also part of the official festival program.
