Swiss Festivals

Summer is almost here, it seems – and festivals have always been an important part of the summer in Switzerland. Time to take a look a few of them!

Openair St. Gallen: In its 35th year, Openair St. Gallen is once again proving to be one of the highlights of the Swiss festival summer. Putting together a blend of international Rock, Alternative and Electronic acts, it also features some of Switzerland’s most exciting bands: Baschi, Young Gods, Solange La Frange, Boy or Alvin Zealot, to name but a few.

Gurtenfestival: Also a legendary festival and definitely one of the most scenic ones. Offering one of the stages to Swiss bands only, the Waldbühne, Gurtenfestival points out the importance of the domestic music scene. With following bands on the bill, the task to showcase a variety of genres has definitely been accomplished:  Sophie Hunger, 7 Dollar Taxi (Indie-Rock), The Rambling Wheels (Retro Rock), Pamela Mendez (Singer-/Songwriter), Bubble Beatz (Rhythm), Caroline Chevin (Soul), 77 Bombay Street (Folk-Rock), The Bianca Story (Electro Pop), Dead Bunny (Rock) etc.

Paleo Festival: with 230’000 people expected in 6 days and nights, Paleo is the biggest festival in Switzerland and one of the festival highlights in Europe. Swiss acts at this year’s edition include Fiona Daniel, Mama Rosin & Hipbone Slim, Mosquito, Hillbilly Moon Explosion, Oy, Trip In and William White.
